Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores

more room for improvement

One of the more prevalent challenges faced by retailers is the desire to offer more and more choices to consumers within a fixed amount of floor space. For Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the need to increase their selection was especially problematic due to the large, heavy and unwieldy rolls of upholstery fabric they sell.

In addition to increasing product density, Jo-Ann needed fixturing that also offered customers easy accessibility to the full range of inventory — and the ability to easily move the fabric to the cutting table.

The solution is the innovative display you see here. Designed by Jo-Ann with development and fabrication by Leggett's Middlebury facility in Indiana, the solution more than satisfied the retailer's space and shop-ability requirements. In fact, the unit:

  • Increases unit capacity by 50% — from 10 rolls per side to 15
  • Features an easy-to-use and intuitive fabric selection dial that revolves the carousel and brings a new selection of fabrics to the front
  • Facilitates moving the cumbersome fabric rolls to the cutting table
  • Provides improved organization and visibility
  • Keeps the fabric cleaner and neater

The fixture is currently being installed through March in 60 Jo-Ann locations for evaluation — and we're confident that it will be as well received by customers as it was with Jo-Ann management.

If you're looking to start the New Year by initiating your own fixturing success story, we'd be glad to help. Call your Leggett sales rep with your challenges and ideas today.
