A look at Leggett & Platt's impressive display of performance.
Building fixtures and winning business for Cato.
At more than 1,300 Cato locations, a customer can put together a look that's contemporary, fashionable and distinctive — which is exactly what Leggett & Platt is delivering to the Charlotte, N.C.- based women's specialty retailer.
Due to Leggett's ability to provide greater resources, service and value than their previous vendor, Cato awarded their new store program to us in 2008. While key factors driving that decision were our ability to stock inventory and then ship and invoice a single store at a time, the program also leverages many of Leggett's unique resources, including:
- Economies derived from the blending of overseas and domestic materials and manufacturing
- Single sourcing of fixtures for both the sales floor and back of the house operations
Metal from China Fixtures...wood from Rogers Wade...hardware from Garcy...stockroom shelving from Syndicate — it all comes seamlessly together to create a fixturing program that's attractive both to Cato's customers and their bottom-line profitability.
Based on outstanding performance in Cato stores, Leggett has been awarded the company's Fashion Metro program and will fit 40 stores in 2009. About three times larger than Cato stores, the new venture will feature women's, junior's, men's, boys', home décor — and an extensive selection of fixtures from Leggett & Platt.
Helping RadioShack turn up their volume.
In consumer electronics, speed is critical — in keeping pace with the ever-changing advances in computing, wireless, GPS and home entertainment technology. And to ensure that their displays are as engaging and sophisticated as the merchandise they sell.
With more than 5,800 stores and dealer locations, that's a challenge for RadioShack — but one that they continue to meet with the help of Leggett & Platt. In fact, the two companies teamed up to undertake a 25-store test of new C4 fixtures. From the initial order to the delivery of the fixtures, the entire project was completed in just six weeks.
The scope of the project included development, prototype and production of a wide range of displays, including:
- Curved cash wraps
- Window display pedestals with plexi tops
- Show window platforms
- Wireless communications tables
- Modular wall storage units
- Wall trim panels, laminate shelves and metal peg panels
Key to the success of the project was the early involvement of the Leggett staff who helped transform RadioShack's concept drawings into fixtures that we could spec, price and build.
What made the achievement even more impressive were the significant challenges we had to overcome. These included the sourcing of an RTF top that was thicker than most manufacturers could provide and developing a way to adhere digitally printed graphics on the curved surfaces of the cash wrap.
Like Cato, our performance for RadioShack was rewarded by more work, including the production of Window Pedestals for a 200 to 300 high-volume store rollout and the assembly of 2,200 Wireless Communications tables imported from China.
